| About
I
am currently in the
course EDIT 6028, Spring 2017. This page is a representation of what I
have learned this semester. Each image below is linked to a Power-Point
presentation. Each presentation
includes actively linked images and screen tips to help facilitate
navigation through the slides.Most of this page is dedicated to Moodle;
a learning management system used by many schools across the country.
Moodle can be used for traditional, hybrid on full-online courses.
Helpful Tips
- Snag-it
is a great application to use to quickly grab images off the internet
and create videos. I used snag-it to create any video or image you find
below.
- Screen-cast is an
online resource where you can create an account and load all of your
videos onto the site. It not only stores them, but it also provides a
URL link so you can easily share your videos without the problem of the
file being too big to share. You can easily hyperlink your work to the
address as seen in VPDR-02 or VPDR-03.
| About Me This Powerpoint slide describes my professional qualifications.

This was my very first professional confernce presentation. I'll admit, I was nervous!
Professional Learning Communities

Professional Learning Communities (PLC) are a great ways for faculty to
collaborate and enhance student learning.
The university where I work has FPD's : Faculty Professional
Developement, which is essentially the same thing. We just call it a
differnt name.
Successful PLC's
VPDR-06: Each PLC has the potential to be successful. Here are a few tips and guidelines.
OLOLC Research & Scholarship Showcase
VPDR-07: I am presenting a poster presentation in April 2017 about the late Mike the Tiger.
The
title of our showcase poster: Interdisciplinary Collaboration among
Human and Veterinary Medicine to Improve Delivery Outcomes.
One of our Radiologic Technology alumni imaged Mike during his PETCT Scans.
How to Add a Quiz on Moodle Part 1
VPDR-08: Take a look at the first steps in creating a quiz online.
My
job uses Moodle as our Learning Management System. Basic quizzes are
familiar to me. I used our project area to create a quiz. See
VPDR-12.
How to Add a Quiz on Moodle Part 2
VPDR-09: After Part 1 is complete, take a look at Part 2. It explains how to edit the parameters for the quiz.
Editing
the time frame, grade parameters, question behavior, and feedback is
essential to creating a successful working online quiz.

This tutorial contains resources that show more details if needed.
Project Area on Ted Talk
VPDR-12: This reflection is a summary of a lesson I created in the project area based off of a Ted Talk.
Our Professor created a "project area" on Moodle. It allowed us to create a lesson as an instructor for a course.
Above you will find a quick video summary of the lesson I created using snag-it.
How to Over-Ride a Moodle Quiz

over-ride a quiz on Moodle. The slide contains a link to a word doc to
see the images in a differnt format.
Let’s
face it! In life, things happen. A student may miss a deadline due to
illness or technical difficulties. Sometimes Moodle is down, they lose
internet access or their computer freezes. In these situations, you can
re-open the quiz by using this tutorial.
Learning Management System
VPDR-14: This reflection slide contains information on differnt LMS's available.
Teaching Online
VPDR-15: This slide is a reflection of what I have learned this semester while teaching my first hybrid course.
Final Project Proposal
